1. What is Video Scoreboard (VSB)?
Answer: Video Scoreboard is the ultimate score keeping solution for venues that use traditional scoreboards that could also benefit from a powerful multi-media tool with graphic and video capabilities. The actual equipment included depends largely on your needs. The core components consist of a large format LED Display and a control system.

2. What customers or markets does VSB fit into?
Answer: Though VSB is a great scorekeeping system, it has a multitude of other capabilities as well, making it a useful tool for many types of venues such as school gyms, common areas, auditoriums, multi-purpose spaces, corporate center collaboration spaces, lobbies, etc.

3. Why is VSB better than traditional scoreboards?
Answer: VSB is more versatile and is capable of full screen graphics, videos, and other forms of media that can be displayed instantly at the push of a button with the screen controller system. The scoreboard function is fully customizable to incorporate the home team and visiting teams name, logos, and colors. VSB can also be used to generate revenue with its advertising capabilities. This creates endless ways that VSB can be used rather than the single purpose of a traditional scoreboard.

4. How big of an LED display screen can I order?
Answer: VSB LED displays are a modular design that allow for custom screen sizes. The most common sizes able to be created are 169”, 214”, and 260” (measured diagonally) as determined by the set size of the ImageCell modular cabinets when configured in an approximate 16:9 aspect ratio. The 16:9 aspect ratio is compatible with most media formats. Please Click Here to go to the ‘Hardware’ page for more information on sizing.

5. Can I order the software only?
Answer: No. Our VSB Software requires our VSB Application Server and a proprietary control device such as our wireless tablet or the wired button pad controller. The VSB CORE option gives just these bare essentials without the LED Display.

6. Can I order a LED display only?
Answer: Yes. The LED display may be used in a variety of ways other than as a scoreboard. VSB has a multitude of capabilities making it a useful tool for many types of venues such as school gyms, commons areas, auditoriums, multi-purpose spaces, corporate center collaboration spaces, etc. Please Click Here to go to the ‘Display Only Option’ page for information on purchasing the display only.

7. Can I have more than one LED display?
Answer: Yes. Video Scoreboard BASIC™, Video Scoreboard PRO™, and the Display Only options are expandable so you can add as many screens as your venue requires. Please Click Here to go to the ‘System Examples’ page for information on system designs and add-ons.

8. Are the displays portable?
Answer: No. VSB displays are typically installed with permanent mounting methods for safety and security. However, Video Scoreboard is generally quite capable at accommodating our customers looking for custom or unique solutions. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific requirements.

9. What is the resolution of the LED display?
Answer: VSB LED Displays are capable of displaying high resolution HD content and utilize a hardware scaling engine to improve picture quality when mapping 1080p content to the screen. Each LED module/cabinet has 24,576 LED pixels. A 260” display has 30 total ImageCell cabinets that make up the entire display. Therefore this display would have 742,680 pixels total. This is better resolution than most Jumbo-Trons used in sports venues. Please Click Here to go to the ‘Hardware’ page for display specifications.

10. What other equipment do I need if I order the VSB CORE system?
Answer: With our VSB CORE system, you would need a video device such as an LED screen or projector system to display the video source coming directly from the VSB Application Server. Your video device may have its own AV requirements that could require additional hardware.

11. What other equipment do I need if I order the LED display only?
Answer: The LED display comes with the screen scaler/sender hardware that will require an equipment rack, console, or closet to store it in. You will be able to run the video source directly into this hardware. If you wish to have multiple sources feed into the display then an AV Processor will be required to switch between multiple sources before sending a signal to the provided screen scaler/sender hardware device.

12. What are the mounting requirements for the LED display?
Answer: LED displays are made up of multiple ImageCell™ Modular Cabinets that are ready to be individually attached to a structural surface capable of supporting the weight of the fully assembled display. Many projects will have their own unique requirements for mounting that will require coordination before installation.

13. How much do the LED displays weigh?
Answer: LED displays are made up of multiple ImageCell™ Modular Cabinets. Each individual cabinet weighs 50 lbs. A 169” LED display is made up of 12 ImageCell™ Modular Cabinets and therefore weighs 600 lbs. A 214” LED display is made up of 20 ImageCell™ Modular Cabinets and therefore weighs 1,000 lbs. A 260” LED display is made up of 30 ImageCell™ Modular Cabinets and therefore weighs 1,500 lbs. Weights do not include any other mounting hardware specific to your project or the optional valance set that frames the top and bottom of the display.

14. What type of media can I show on a VSB system?
Answer: VSB LED Displays are basically a monitor that can show any digital image or motion video, such as still graphics, web pages, movies on dvd, movie files, live camera feeds, advertisements, etc.

15. What are the advantages of VSP PRO versus VSB BASIC?
Answer: Video Scoreboard PRO™ has several advantages such as live camera feeds, and multiple wireless touch panels, but the most important is its expandability. Please Click Here to go to the products page that highlights the differences between the two.
